Letting
students to express in the classroom
(Gabriela orellana)
My
personal view about this topic is that letting students express themselves in
the classroom is important because in that way teachers can easily identify the
students who really have understood the topic, and the ones who really need to
have a better clarification on it. In addition, it helps teachers to make
students to lose the embarrassed to speak in front of the class or simply tells
others what they think about something.
However, the
problem is that many teachers do not like to let students say what they think
or what they have not understood, many of them just dedicate their time to talk
and talk to the students without knowing if the they are getting the idea
or if the students are still bagging with doubts, or even teachers might
noticed that the students’ face are confused, and they still
continue with the class as if nothing were happening on students
learning process. When there are many strategies to use to make
students to participate in the classroom, such as think pair
to share which in my opinion, it would be a good
way to make students to share their ideas and to make them feel
comfortable enough to deliberate their thoughts. Moreover, Teachers
may take an advantage to let students to release their opinions and discussions
because at that time teachers can provide feedback to the students or help them
to have a clear idea about any doubt. To conclude, it seems to me that letting
students to participate in the classroom has many advantages.
I really agree with you gaby is very important use strategies for example the teacher has to motivate the students to participle in the classroom.
